A NUMBER of diving centres in Bahrain was the target of a joint inspection campaign by the Coastguard.
The aim was to ensure that maritime safety measures were being followed, the expatriate workers were complying with residency and labour laws and fishing gear and scuba diving gas cylinders met the required standards.
“Several violations were detected and the necessary legal actions were taken against the offenders,” said an Interior Ministry statement yesterday.
The Coastguard emphasised the importance of adhering to laws and regulations governing maritime and fishing activities, affirming that such inspection campaigns will continue periodically to identify and address violations.
The campaign was carried out in co-operation with the Industry and Commerce Ministry, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, the Muharraq and Capital Governorate Police Directorates and the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs.
