His Majesty King Hamad has affirmed the strength of the long-standing bilateral relations and historical ties between Bahrain and Russia.
He also underscored the mutual commitment and ongoing efforts of both nations to further enhance their co-operation in all fields, particularly at the legislative and parliamentary levels as he received Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh at Sakhir Palace, on the occasion of his successful official visit to Russia as the head of the council delegation.
His Majesty commended the role of Russian President Vladimir Putin in supporting this evolving relationship and in advancing bilateral co-operation.
He also praised the visit made by the Shura Council, their meetings with several senior officials and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on parliamentary co-operation with the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
This will contribute to enhancing the growing parliamentary relations and solidifying co-ordination as well as understanding to support legislative and parliamentary work and the exchange of visits and expertise to achieve mutual benefit.
The King was briefed on the key outcomes of the visit. Mr Al Saleh expressed pride in the achievements made by the kingdom, and the high standing and respected international reputation it enjoys under the vision and guidance of His Majesty.
