The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain recently hosted the ‘Art of Cake’ workshop, a hands-on baking experience designed to inspire and cultivate the talents of young Bahrainis.
Held in collaboration with the HiPO Ambassadors Club and in strategic partnership with Muharraq Model Youth Centre, the event was part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and fostering meaningful community engagement across the kingdom.
The HiPO Ambassadors Club is the alumni arm of Bahrain’s High Potential (HiPO) Youth Programme, a national initiative aimed at developing young leaders aged 18 to 27. Run in partnership with Bahrain’s Youth Affairs Ministry, the programme identifies and nurtures talented youth through leadership training, mentorship and real-world opportunities.
The workshop was led by rising culinary star Fatema Alghannemi, a proud graduate of the HiPO Ambassadors Club who is serving as junior sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain.
Ms Alghannemi, who represents a new wave of young Bahraini professionals making their mark in the hospitality industry, was supported by the hotel’s seasoned executive chef Joergen Sodemann.
Ms Alghannemi said she was grateful for the opportunity to host the Art of Cake workshop in collaboration with the club.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to share my passion and inspire Bahraini youth to explore the culinary arts and consider this path as a fulfilling career,” she added.
Participants were invited into the heart of the hotel’s kitchens for an immersive experience in the art and science of cake-making.
From learning the fundamentals of baking to mastering intricate decoration techniques, the young attendees had the opportunity to express their creativity, develop practical skills and gain valuable insight into the professional culinary world.
The initiative reflects The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain’s broader vision of empowering youth through education, mentorship and opportunity.
As part of its collaboration with the HiPO Ambassadors Club, the luxury resort continues to serve as a platform for personal and professional growth, encouraging local talent to pursue excellence and ambition in their chosen fields.
