INTERIOR Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has reiterated Bahrain’s firm and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Gen Shaikh Rashid also pointed out that the kingdom backed all efforts aimed at achieving a just, lasting and peaceful solution to the crisis when he received his Palestinian counterpart Ziad Mahmoud Hab Al Reeh and his accompanying delegation in the presence of several senior ministry officials.
The Palestinian delegation was welcomed with an official guard of honour. The Interior Minister, along with the Deputy Interior Minister, the Public Security chief and senior officials received them.
Gen Shaikh Rashid said that the visit was deeply appreciated and reflected the strong relations between the two countries, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
He emphasised the importance of protecting civilians, securing the release of hostages and detainees, de-escalating tension and avoiding violence that undermines regional security and stability.
