Several individuals have been arrested in separate cases for possessing and attempting to smuggle around 14kg of drugs, with an estimated street value of more than BD24,000.
They belong to various nationalities and are aged between 20 and 49 years, the Interior Ministry said today.
The Anti-Narcotics Directorate received a report on the smuggling bid and launched an investigation. Suspects were identified and illegal substances in their possession were seized.
Necessary legal measures were taken before referring the cases to the Public Prosecution.
Members of the public have been urged to cooperate with security authorities by reporting any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking via the 24-hour hotline 996 or by email at 996@interior.gov.bh. The ministry assured that all information will be treated with full confidentiality.
