EDUCATION Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma yesterday met the top students from public and private schools who achieved scores of 99 per cent and above, as well as other high achievers.
He congratulated them on their excellent results and commended their parents for their support.
Dr Juma approved the allocation results for scholarships and study grants for outstanding students graduating from secondary school for the 2024-2025 academic year. The ministry has published the results on its official website for students and parents to view.
The minister expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support and prioritisation of education in Bahrain.
Dr Juma reviewed the scholarship allocations based on cumulative grades, which remain the sole criterion for selection. He also discussed students’ academic and career ambitions and wished them success.
He highlighted that 1,870 students applied for scholarships, with around 80pc receiving their first or second choice, reflecting a fair and accurate allocation process.
He noted that 330 scholarships were awarded in the nursing programme, the highest number ever offered through the ministry’s scholarships accommodating all nursing applicants. Additionally, he said 2,300 financial grants were allocated to students with grades between 90pc and 94.9pc.
Dr Juma added that the ministry allocated 60 scholarships and grants for students with special needs and cancer patients, emphasising its commitment to providing equal educational opportunities for all.
The ministry announced scholarship procedures and communication via its official Instagram account and opened a complaints period for scholarship results from the announcement date until Thursday.
