The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) condemned the continued Israeli policies and violations of holy sites and international and humanitarian laws, and their threat to security and peace.
This came as the SCIA held its regular session yesterday, chaired by its president Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
He strongly condemned the starvation policies targeting people in the Gaza Strip, which have claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent people, the majority of whom are elderly, women, and children.
He called for a firm and responsible stance to protect civilians, halt the humanitarian tragedy they are facing, and urgently begin ensuring the massive flow of humanitarian and relief aid, an immediate ceasefire, and the lifting of the blockade on the strip.
He also welcomed the efforts of Saudi Arabia to achieve international recognition of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The SCIA praised the unwavering royal support for the houses of God, and the continuous care and attention given by His Majesty King Hamad to mosques, Islamic endowments, their construction, maintenance, and the allocation of land for them in the various governorates.
It also appreciated the support of the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The council reviewed a memorandum regarding the council’s plan and efforts to serve mosques and endowments. It also took note of the latest developments in mosque reconstruction projects.
