The Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa College of Islamic Studies board of trustees held its regular meeting, chaired by Education Minister and board chairman Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma.
The meeting was attended by Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Councils chairman Shaikh Dr Abdullatif Mahmood Al Mahmood, other board members and several invited experts and specialists.
The board expressed its appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support and patronage of the college, which reflects the kingdom’s commitment to advancing Islamic and Sharia sciences.
The board commended the appointment of Dr Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdullah as dean of the college and wished him success in his new role.
The meeting addressed several items on the agenda, including the approval of the graduation of a new batch of students specialising in Sharia and Islamic banking, the endorsement of a new structure for the bachelor’s programme in Sharia and the discussion and adoption of a proposed preparatory programme.
The board also reviewed updates on the college’s new building and underscored its full readiness ahead of the official inauguration, which is set to take place soon.
The meeting concluded with a series of resolutions and recommendations aimed at further enhancing the college’s academic framework and improving the quality of its educational outcomes.
