The High Civil Court has ordered a Bahraini man and his nephew to pay BD50,000 in compensation to the man’s ex-wife after they caused her severe burns and a permanent disability of 60 per cent in a horrifying acid attack.
The High Criminal Court had earlier sentenced both defendants to 10 years in prison, as reported in the GDN.
The victim then filed a civil lawsuit seeking compensation for the serious harm she suffered.
The Civil Court awarded BD45,000 in compensation for material damages and BD5,000 for moral damages.
