BAHRAIN’S economy grew at 2.7 per cent at constant prices in the first quarter of this year, the Cabinet has been told.
The Cabinet session was discussing a memorandum submitted by the ministerial committee for financial and economic affairs and fiscal balance regarding the quarterly economic report.
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the weekly meeting at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
The memorandum also showed that the 2.7pc annual growth was supported by a 2.2pc growth in non-oil activities.
The Cabinet emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for Bahraini youth to actively contribute to the kingdom’s comprehensive development, , led by His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Marking International Youth Day, the Cabinet commended the efforts of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, chaired by the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in empowering young people.
