A number of commercial establishments have been shut down in the Southern Governorate for violating Public Roads Occupancy Law.
Violations that come under the law include cafés placing tables and chairs on the sidewalks, shops displaying goods outside their designated area or street vendors occupying public spaces causing inconvenience to pedestrians and road users.
“These inspections come as part of a campaign that is aimed at curbing such violations,” said the Southern Municipality in a statement yesterday.
“Owners of establishments are urged to follow all rules and regulations, and to ensure they have all the necessary licences from the municipality before operating.”
