Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam has stressed that the vision of His Majesty King Hamad has made humanitarian work a comprehensive development framework and a core Bahraini value that enhances international solidarity, encourages humanitarian contribution, and supports global peace, security and stability.
He commended the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in highlighting Bahrain’s efforts through international co-operation in delivering humanitarian and relief assistance to countries and peoples affected by conflicts and disasters.
Mr Al Musallam commended the humanitarian and development role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), chaired by His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He noted its initiatives, projects and programmes supporting orphans, widows, families and other groups, alongside its major contributions to regional and international humanitarian and relief work, particularly its assistance to the Palestinian people.
Marking World Humanitarian Day, Mr Al Musallam noted that Bahrain has a proud record and long-standing history in humanitarian, charitable, and relief work, which has made it a leading model in this vital domain, strengthening ties with nations in line with the royal vision that places human welfare and dignity at the forefront.
Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh emphasised that Bahrain’s humanitarian achievements reflect the vision of His Majesty, whose commitment has advanced charitable and humanitarian work at home and abroad. He expressed pride in Bahrain’s pioneering role in comprehensive humanitarian initiatives and charitable projects, guided by the King’s directives.
Mr Al Saleh noted that under the leadership of His Majesty, Bahrain has become a distinguished humanitarian model through the RHF, which has delivered medical, food and relief aid to countries affected by crises, most notably this year’s assistance to Gaza, in line with royal directives.
He noted that Bahrain’s humanitarian record enhances its regional and international standing, making it a leading example of providing relief and aid to people affected by disasters and crises.
He commended the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its national efforts in advancing humanitarian and charitable work through innovative programmes and initiatives that support those in need inside and outside the kingdom.
