The second edition of a programme that offers first-hand experience to female engineers in a world-class motorsport facility will be launched next month by the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
The Women in Engineering programme is being held in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Women. It offers selected Bahraini women the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals at BIC, learn from the industry experts and contribute to cutting-edge projects in the motorsport domain.
The initiative is entitled ‘Diverse Drive 2’ and follows the success of the inaugural programme held last year.
The second edition has been extended to a duration of six months instead of three, and is scheduled to start next month and conclude in February.
Bahraini women who are fresh university graduates in mechanical, automotive, electrical, civil, or related fields in engineering are invited to apply for the programme.
As of 2024, there are 436 Bahraini female engineers in the public sector, making up 37 per cent.
