Omar Shaheen, the chief executive officer of Radio Bahrain, has announced his departure after four years at the helm of the kingdom’s national music station.
He revealed the news on his LinkedIn social media page, where he reflected on what he described as ‘the honour of my career’.
During his tenure, he said Radio Bahrain underwent a ‘period of transformation, evolving from a traditional broadcaster into a multimedia platform while maintaining its cultural heritage’.
In his statement, Mr Shaheen expressed gratitude to the chairman, the board, Mumtalakat, and Information Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi for their support.
Staff members were recently informed of the move and their former boss later emailed them paying tribute to his team, ‘crediting their passion and creativity as the driving force behind the station’s progress’.
The GDN has contacted Mumtalakat for comment. The name of the new CEO remains a mystery.
