Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday received US Ambassador Steven C Bondy and Vice Admiral George M Wikoff, Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command, Commander of the US Fifth Fleet, and Commander of the Combined Maritime Forces, at Gudaibiya Palace.
During the meeting, the Deputy King highlighted the deep-rooted Bahrain-US partnership, underpinned by multisectoral co-operation, particularly across the military and defence sectors.
The Deputy King emphasised the importance of advancing bilateral co-operation, strengthened by various memoranda and joint agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA).
The Deputy King also underscored the vital role of the US, alongside allied nations, in safeguarding regional and international security and stability.
The latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest, were also discussed in the meeting.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and senior officials also attended the meeting.
