Three people - two men and a woman - have been arrested for allegedly stealing BD19,950 from a vehicle in Gudaibiya, the Interior Ministry said on X.
Upon receiving a report of the theft, CID officers launched an investigation leading to the identification of the suspects, whose ages and nationalities were not mentioned.
A fourth suspect in the case was found to have already left the country.
Part of the stolen money was found in the possession of the three suspects, along with narcotic substances and drug-use paraphernalia.
The General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence confirmed that legal procedures have been taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
It further stressed the importance of continued community partnership in supporting security efforts to counter unlawful practices.
The ministry urged people to ensure the proper functioning of surveillance cameras and alarm systems in shops and companies to enhance security and protection.
Citizens and residents have also been encouraged to promptly report any information related to illegal activities by calling 999, available around the clock, with full confidentiality guaranteed.
