His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday reviewed the latest progress on the Muharraq City Development Plan.
He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to implementing the royal order of His Majesty King Hamad, aimed at preserving Bahrain’s historical and cultural identity through the restoration of iconic sites, including the Isa Al Kabeer Palace and Muharraq’s neighbourhoods.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted Muharraq’s significance as one of Bahrain’s oldest cities and a centre of rich heritage. He emphasised the importance of preserving its cultural landmarks while fostering community revival.
“The success of the plan rests on sustaining momentum and strong teamwork to achieve its goals,” HRH Prince Salman noted, as he was briefed on the project by officials responsible for implementing it at Riffa Palace.
He also highlighted the importance of preserving cultural and heritage landmarks in conjunction with the kingdom’s developmental efforts.
The officials expressed their gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his unwavering support and affirmed their determination to deliver on the plan’s pillars, in line with the King’s royal order. Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and senior officials were also in attendance.
