Three men, described as Asian by the authorities, have been arrested for allegedly detaining three Asian women and forcing them into immoral activities.
The Anti-Human Trafficking and Public Morality Protection Directorate received a report following which an investigation was launched. The suspects were identified and arrested. Their age or nationality were not disclosed.
Legal proceedings are underway to refer the case to the Public Prosecution, the Interior Ministry said yesterday. Members of the community are being urged to combat human trafficking by calling 555, emailing 555@interior.gov.bh, or contacting the Operations Room at 999, with full confidentiality guaranteed.
