Bahrain Council for International Dispute Resolution secretary general and vice chair of the board of trustees of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution Professor Marike Paulsson and BCDR chief executive officer Ahmed Husain held meeting with Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) CEO Gloria Lim.
The meeting was held at the SIAC office in Maxwell Chambers, during Singapore Convention Week 2025.
The meeting built upon the memorandum of understanding signed between SIAC and BCDR on February 21, 2024, which established an institutional framework for co-operation between the two sides.
Discussions reviewed progress since signing the MoU and explored further avenues to strengthen co-operation, particularly in capacity building, knowledge exchange, and joint stakeholder engagement and collaboration, with a focus on the Middle East Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot, in recognition of the importance of collaborative initiatives for both institutions.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to strengthening institutional ties between Bahrain and Singapore as leading centres for international arbitration, focusing on developing practitioners’ skills, enhancing procedural innovation, and providing reliable dispute resolution services at both the regional and international levels.
