An expatriate has been arrested for practising cosmetology without a licence issued by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).
The agency said yesterday (Sept 1) that the 29-year-old woman was arrested in co-operation with the Interior Ministry after it was found that she provided dermatology and cosmetology services via a social media platform.
It added in a statement that advertisements and photographs were posted documenting her unlicensed practice.
“The woman was arrested red-handed in a furnished apartment and a large collection of medicines and drugs from unknown sources were also found,” said the NHRA.
It added that the case had been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
