Registration is now open for an annual competition of art, culture and literature for Indian children residing in Bahrain.
The Kerala Catholic Association (KCA) announced the launch of the 25th edition of KCA-BFC (Bahrain Financing Company) The Indian Talent Scan 2025, that will be run from October 17 until the first week of December.
Details were announced at a Press conference chaired by KCA president James John and senior members at the association’s premises in Segaiya.
A special organising committee has been set up with the appointment of Simi Leo as the first-ever chairperson of the competition, followed by K M Thomas and Joyal Jose as vice-chairmen, along with other members.
Ms Leo said that this year’s edition will feature some new events, adding that special attention would be given to team-based activities aimed at fostering personality development among participants.
Registration closes on September 30. Applications will be received online as well as offline.
Indian children residing in Bahrain who are born between October 1, 2007 and September 30, 2020 are eligible to participate. They will be divided into five age groups:
The competition features six categories of events: Natya Ratna (Dance), Sangeet Ratna (Song), Kala Ratna (Arts and Crafts), Sahitya Ratna (Literary), Add-On Events and Team.
More than 180 individual events will be available across the five age groups, along with several team events.
Participants can take part in a maximum of 12 individual events and are free to take part in any number of team events.
Numerous awards and trophies will be presented, including Kalathilakam and Kalaprathibha Awards, Group Championship Awards, KCA Special Awards, Natya Ratna, Sangeet Ratna, Kala Ratna, and Sahitya Ratna Awards.
Awards for Best Dance Teacher, Best Music Teacher and Participation and Performance Awards to Schools will also be given.
All participants will receive certificates.
An entry fee of BD2 per item per child will be charged from KCA members and BD3 per item per child will be charged from non-members.
For dance events, KCA members will be charged BD3 per item and non-members will be charged BD4 per item.
For team events, the fee will be BD10 per team. If participants of a team are all KCA members, then the fee will be BD5 per team.
KCA members should have updated their subscription up to September 2025 to avail this member privilege.
More than 800 awards were presented to talented children during last year’s competition.
