A training course, aimed at empowering Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) by equipping them with skills for financial independence and entrepreneurial opportunities on their return to the Philippines, was held at Orange Tower in Juffair.
Forty-three OFWs attended the second session of the Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Training.
The four-week course is specifically tailored for graduates of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration’s (OWWA) skilled training programmes, and is being held in partnership with Pinay Ikaw Na and Eagle Mind Consultancies.
This initiative is an integral part of the Department of Migrant Workers’ Reintegration Preparedness Programme, and aligns with OWWA’s mission to empower OFWs through sustainable livelihood training and support services.
During the second session, Eagle Mind Consultancies chief executive Dr Ilene Agana guided the participants through financial management, business planning and developing an entrepreneurial mindset.
The course concludes in a couple of weeks, with trainees presenting a series of business proposals.
