Bahraini artists are invited to sharpen their skills and immerse themselves in France’s dynamic artistic landscape through a newly-launched residency programme.
The French Embassy in Bahrain, in partnership with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Alliance Française Bahrain, has launched a 2026 International Residency Programme at the Cité Internationale des Arts, an artist-in-residence building complex in Paris.
The three-month, fully-funded residency offers established and professional artists the chance to create, connect and immerse themselves in France’s vibrant artistic scene.
Open to all artistic disciplines, including architecture, design, street art, cinema, dance, literature, gastronomy, crafts, fashion, music, photography, theatre and more, selected creatives will spend three months in Paris between April 2026 and April 2027.
It aims to develop artists projects, expand networks and engage in intercultural dialogue.
An information session was recently hosted by the French Embassy for Bahrain-based artists, across literature, fashion, design, photography and visual arts.
It outlined the full application process and featured testimonials from former residents, including filmmaker Saleh Nass and architect Ashraf Ali, who shared valuable advice on how to craft a strong application. Both shared how the residency had significant impact on their artistic journeys and opened international opportunities.
This initiative reflects the embassy’s commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue, encouraging artistic exchange between France and Bahrain, and supporting the international exposure of the kingdom’s talent.
The deadline to apply is October 3. For more information, visit the embassy’s official Instagram @francebahrain.
