Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday chaired a meeting to review the latest developments on the National Afforestation Plan and the Bahrain Mangroves initiative, at Riffa Palace.
Shaikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of implementing plans which support environmental conservation and sustainability efforts to achieve the visions of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Mohammed affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable development to ensure progress incorporates environmental conservation and consideration.
He was briefed on the progress made by the National Afforestation Plan and the Bahrain Mangroves initiative.
Shaikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the various teams and relevant authorities, noting the importance of continuing to work as a team to achieve further success in preserving the kingdom’s environment and ensuring the sustainability of its resources.
Shaikh Mohammed emphasised that the kingdom’s environmental projects and sustainable initiatives reflect its commitment to international climate change efforts, fulfilling Bahrain’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
He highlighted the importance of community partnerships and the enhancement of environmental awareness in achieving environmental goals and ensuring the success of national efforts to conserve natural resources.
Shaikh Mohammed urged all members of society to uphold sustainable environmental practices to safeguard resources for future generations.
