THE National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) played a prominent role at the Global Water, Energy, and Climate Change Congress (GWECCC) 2025, participating as an associate partner.
The event served as a crucial platform for government officials, international experts, and private sector stakeholders to discuss and take action on water security, energy transition, and climate resilience.
NBB’s leadership shared valuable insights during key speaking engagements. Usman Ahmed, the bank’s group chief executive, joined a high-level Investment panel, where he highlighted the role of sustainable financing in driving economic growth and supporting the transition to a greener economy.
Meanwhile, the group head of corporate finance Zied Jalali contributed to an energy roundtable, discussing how institutions can scale innovation through effective go-to-market strategies, financing models, and global partnerships.
In recognition of the bank’s significant contributions, chief executive of strategic accounts Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed accepted an award of appreciation from Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
The award acknowledged NBB’s role as a strategic partner in advancing Bahrain’s national climate agenda.
NBB’s participation at GWECCC 2025 aligns with its ongoing commitment to helping Bahrain achieve its national sustainability goals and fulfilling its own ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments.
