A delegation from Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division is taking part in the meeting of the Economic and Sustainable Development Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), hosted by Bahrain from today to Tuesday, with the participation of around 70 members representing 15 countries.
The meetings provide a platform for addressing key issues affecting the continent’s future, including economic development, climate change, and social challenges. They also enhance Asian parliamentary partnerships, support co-ordination, and highlight Bahrain’s democratic achievements and active legislative role.
The session, chaired by Parliament’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee chairman and APA vice-president Ahmed Al Salloom, will review seven draft resolutions on establishing an Asian energy market, environmental issues, sustaining economic growth efforts, supporting implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, water and sanitation in Asian countries, the climate finance initiative, and electing members of the APA Bureau.
Bahrain’s delegation includes MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, MP Bader Saleh Al Tamimi, MP Abdulhakeem Mohammed Al Shino, Services Committee chairwoman in the Shura Council Dr Jameela Mohammed Redha Al Salman, and Shura Council members Dr Abdulaziz Hassan Abel and Dr Hani Ali Al Saati.
