Several violating outlets were closed following an extensive inspection campaign by the Capital Municipality targeting a number of popular restaurants and cafés in the Manama Central Market to ensure compliance with municipal regulations and general hygiene standards.
Warnings and notices were also issued to other establishments that failed to comply with municipal requirements.
The Capital Municipality explained that the closure decisions followed repeated violations that had been previously flagged, most notably the improper disposal of used oils by dumping them into sewage networks.
