Six men have been arrested in East Riffa for allegedly violating residency conditions and engaging in the sale and distribution of tombac and alcoholic beverages.
The CID at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science said, in a statement yesterday, that upon receiving information about two separate incidents, search and investigation operations were carried out, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects, identified only as Asian nationals.
“Quantities of tombac, alcoholic beverages and a number of electric wires were also seized in their possession,” added the statement.
The Interior Ministry said that the arrests were part of efforts to maintain order, combat crime and enforce the law through inspection campaigns targeting residency violators in the kingdom.
The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Criminal Media Division also underlined the importance of communication and community partnership in supporting security efforts to counter illegal practices, urging people to report any related information by contacting the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science on 17718888, available around the clock, with full confidentiality guaranteed.
