Government procurement requests worth around BD3 million were reviewed during the second virtual meeting of the ICT Governance Committee (ICTGC), the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced.
The meeting was chaired by iGA chief executive Mohammed Al Qaed, who highlighted the committee’s role in advancing the kingdom’s digital transformation.
Among the projects approved was a new Consumer Protection Complaints and Enquiries system that will use artificial intelligence to automate complaint processing.
The system will analyse complaint patterns, provide comprehensive summaries of recurring issues, and generate statistics to enhance transparency and improve customer satisfaction.
The committee also reviewed a Health Ministry electronic system to automate impairment percentage calculations, offering a more transparent and accurate evaluation process.
Additionally, a Cloud-based VOIP Upgrade project for the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry was discussed.
The project aims to enhance communications by adopting cloud-based technology, offering greater flexibility and centralised management at a lower cost than traditional systems.
The ICTGC also reviewed requests for the development and maintenance of information systems across various government entities to improve IT services and ensure business continuity.
