The body of a Bahraini man missing in Thailand has been found after he reportedly drowned while at sea.
He and his two brothers had entered the sea during dangerous surf conditions at Karon Beach in Phuket on Friday evening (September 21).
According to media reports, the three men had entered the water despite red warning flags being clearly posted along the shoreline.
Karon Police were alerted to the incident at around 6.30pm. All three were swept into the deep by strong waves.
Lifeguards managed to rescue two of the men - Ahmed and Mohammed Almeshakhas. The latter sustained minor injuries and was taken to Patong Hospital for treatment.
However, Jasim’s body was found after rescue teams searched for him through the night.
The brothers had arrived in Phuket on September 14 and were staying at a hotel in Patong.
According to Phuket News, the body has been transferred for a full autopsy.
Karon Police confirmed the Bahraini Embassy has been notified.
