The Bahrain Chamber chairman Sameer Nass met South African Ambassador Mogobo David Magabe to discuss strengthening trade and economic ties.
Mr Nass praised the relationship between the two nations but noted that the current trade volume of $95.3 million is modest. He expressed the Bahraini private sector’s desire to increase it, particularly in promising sectors such as food security and pharmaceuticals.
Mr Nass also emphasised that establishing direct flights between Bahrain and South Africa would significantly boost trade, tourism, and partnerships.
For his part, Mr Magabe voiced optimism about enhancing relations and highlighted Bahrain’s strategic location as a gateway to the GCC and other regional markets.
