His Majesty King Hamad has commended the joint co-operation between Bahrain and Pakistan, reflecting the close Islamic ties uniting the two countries.
The King was speaking as he received Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq yesterday.
The Speaker conveyed to the King greetings and appreciation of President Asif Ali Zardari, along with his wishes for Bahrain’s continued prosperity and progress.
The King relayed his greetings to the Pakistani President, wishing the people of Pakistan further growth and prosperity.
He highlighted the strength of historical relations and co-operation between the two countries, underscored by mutual commitment to further strengthening them across various sectors.
His Majesty noted the importance of such visits in bolstering parliamentary co-operation, exchanging legislative expertise, and enhancing co-ordination on issues of mutual concern, in service of the Arab and Islamic nations.
The King expressed pride in the achievements of Bahrain’s legislative authority across various fields in support of the kingdom and its people.
They also discussed regional and international developments of common interest.
Mr Sadiq expressed gratitude to the King for the generous hospitality and lauded his role in strengthening Bahraini-Pakistani relations.
