An event commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month is set to be staged soon to raise awareness about the disease.
The programme, entitled Asian Paints Presents: United in Pink, will be held on October 9.
In the lead-up to the community initiative, organisers Woman This Month (WTM) and Gulf Daily News – along with event sponsors – met Capital Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa to extend a formal invitation to attend and to express their gratitude for his steadfast support to this vital cause.
“We are deeply grateful to Shaikh Khalid for his continued encouragement,” the organisers said. “His support reflects the kingdom’s strong commitment to public health and community well-being.”
More than 300 visitors are expected to attend the event at Water Garden City in Seef District, from 5pm to 7pm. Diverse activities, including raffles and exciting prizes, fitness activities and games, a walkathon, live entertainment, refreshments and more will keep participants entertained.
One of the major attractions will be a pink Porsche car, which will be displayed at the venue. A life-sized pink ribbon installation, symbolising solidarity and hope, will also be there.
The event is open to the public. For registrations, call 66988311 or 39694395.
