His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued an edict appointing Osama Ahmed Al Zayed electricity distribution directorate director at the Electricity and Water Authority, based on a proposal by the minister.
Mr Al Zayed succeeds Ibrahim Ahmed. The minister shall implement the provisions of the edict, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
HRH Prince Salman issued another edict appointing directors at the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), based on the proposal of the authority’s board of directors.
Dr Shaikha Lubna bint Ali Al Khalifa has been appointed to the directorate of higher education and vocational training performance review; Naila Mohammed Al Kaabi, school and kindergarten performance review directorate, succeeding Ameera Mohammed Al Balushi; Najma Ghuloom, planning and projects directorate; and Dr Thajba Ibrahim Al Jowder, directorate of information technology.
The BQA chairman shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall take effect from the date of issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issued a third edict amending certain provisions of an earlier one on the reformation of the National Committee for the Elderly, following the submission of the Social Development Minister.
According to the new decree, Clause (3) of Paragraph I of Article I of Edict (11) of 2023 on the reformation of the committee shall be replaced with the following provision:
“3. A member of the Supreme Council for Women, representing the Council.”
Paragraph II of Article I of the same edict shall also be replaced with the following provision:
“The entities stipulated in Clauses (3), (5), and (6) of the previous paragraph shall designate their representatives to the Committee.”
The relevant authorities, each in their respective capacity, shall implement this edict, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette.
