The executive committee of the Bahraini-Saudi Co-ordination Council held its periodic meeting yesterday in the presence of the two countries’ delegations.
The council is chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani praised the meeting, describing it as a reflection of mutual keenness to continue enhancing bilateral co-operation and integration across various sectors.
He commended the big strides made in this respect thanks to the close follow-up and unflinching support of HRH Prince Salman and Prince Mohammed.
Dr Al Zayani also praised the distinguished efforts made by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to bolster joint co-operation and bilateral initiatives.
He also commended the tireless diplomatic efforts of Saudi Arabia to foster peace, security, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
The Saudi Foreign Minister pointed out a remarkable improvement in trade exchange, which increased from $11.5 billion in 2023 to $12.9bn by the end of 2024.
The executive committee reviewed the annual performance report for 2024-2025 of the Bahraini-Saudi Co-ordination Council’s committees.
It also approved the work timeline of the council and its committees for the years 2025-2026, which will be renewed every year.
The committees’ chairpersons were directed to complete the implementation of agreed initiatives.
The executive committee also approved the council’s visual identity and the committees’ new initiatives, directing them to embark on their implementation.
