Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, has celebrated the graduation of its second batch of employees from the Top-Up Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programme in Electrical, Electronic and Control System Engineering, delivered in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield, the UK.
The ceremony was held yesterday at Alba’s Oasis Hall, honouring 24 employees for their academic achievement, bringing the total number of national graduates from this programme to 48.
The event was attended by Alba’s chief executive Ali Al Baqali, members of Alba’s executive management team, as well as senior officials and faculty members from University of Huddersfield, including pro vice-chancellor research, innovation and knowledge exchange Professor Monty Adkins and project manager Dr Mosttafa Alghadhi.
“At Alba, learning never stops. Every graduate here today proves that investing in our people is investing in Alba’s future. Empowering our national workforce remains at the heart of our mission and our success,” said Mr Al Baqali.
In line with Alba’s strategic focus on nurturing in-house talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning, he announced the launch of the third batch of the Top-Up BEng programme in Mechanical Engineering, commencing this month in collaboration with Huddersfield University.
