His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday met United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation Director General Audrey Azoulay.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the role of technology in promoting educational excellence and innovation, whilst also creating opportunities for further growth.
He noted that these initiatives affirm the kingdom’s commitment to fulfilling the far-reaching visions of His Majesty King Hamad.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised Unesco’s vital role in advancing education and fostering international co-operation in the fields of culture and science.
He affirmed that the close partnership between Bahrain and Unesco reflects the kingdom’s commitment to making culture, education and technology key pillars of its progress and comprehensive development.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed the importance of strengthening co-operation with international organisations to realise the kingdom’s desired goals of progress and development.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted that the Unesco King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education stands as a testament to two decades of co-operation between Bahrain and Unesco.
He stressed that this partnership highlights the kingdom’s commitment to academic excellence and the furthering of educational outcomes, innovation and opportunity worldwide.
For her part, the Unesco director general commended Bahrain’s unwavering efforts in strengthening international co-operation through its support of the organisation’s programmes and initiatives across various fields.
Several senior officials also attended the meeting.
