His Majesty King Hamad received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Safriya Palace yesterday.
Present were His Majesty’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and National Security Adviser Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and senior officials.
The meeting discussed topics related to advancing Bahrain’s comprehensive development process and enhancing national achievements for the benefit of its citizens.
His Majesty commended the outcomes of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s successful official visit last week to Vatican and Italy, during which he met Pope Leo XIV, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and senior officials.
The King highlighted the importance of the visit in strengthening the long-standing historical partnerships and expanding areas of joint co-operation between Bahrain, the Vatican and Italy.
In light of the Royal Decree inviting the Shura Council and Parliament to convene for the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term next week, His Majesty underscored the importance of continuing to strengthen co-operation between the executive and legislative branches in a manner that supports national development goals and creates further opportunities for citizens.
He said that the agreement reached to end the war in Gaza marks a day of peace for the Middle East and the world.
His Majesty expressed appreciation to US President Donald Trump for his efforts in promoting peace in the Middle East and for his role in supporting this historic agreement.
The King reiterated Bahrain’s firm support for the agreement and stressed the importance of all parties honouring their commitments and responsibilities in its implementation.
His Majesty also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the mediators who contributed to achieving this outcome.
