His Majesty King Hamad will patronise today the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and Parliament.
His Majesty will deliver his address, which serves as a roadmap outlining the priorities and work avenues for the next phase to further advance the national development march.
Following the opening ceremony, the Shura Council will hold its first procedural session, which will begin with the reading of the Royal Decree summoning both chambers to convene for the fourth ordinary session of the sixth legislative term. The Royal Decree (32) of 2025, appointing Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa as Minister at the Prime Minister’s Court, will also be read.
Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh will deliver a speech marking the opening of the new session, after which the council will proceed to elect its first and second deputy chairpersons. It is expected that Jamal Fakhro will be re-elected as first deputy chairman, and Dr Jihad Al Fadhel as second deputy chairperson, both unopposed.
