A two-month ban on catching kingfish will be lifted on Wednesday (October 15), the Supreme Council for Environment announced on Sunday.
The seasonal ban on kingfish, popularly known as channad, aims to protect the species during its spawning season and preserve marine resources.
The ban, enforced from August 15, prohibited the catching of kingfish using nets in the territorial waters of Bahrain, as well as the display and sale of kingfish in markets and public places for marketing or commercial purposes, during the ban period.
