Manama: The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), through the Art Centre, is opening a new solo exhibition by Bahraini artist Jamal AbdulRahim, titled "Savagery", on Monday, October 13, at 7 PM.
The exhibition showcases 75 artworks in which oil colours intertwine to present a refined artistic vision in shaping visual imagination, and an expressive experience that reflects the artist’s distinctive approach to composing aesthetic scenes and employing colour and texture with precision and individuality.
The exhibition will remain on view until October 27, and is open daily from 9 AM to 8 PM at the Art Centre.

Through this exhibition, Jamal AbdulRahim seeks to offer an aesthetic experience imbued with human and contemplative dimensions, inspired by his desire to capture beauty in simple details and to uncover meaning within the artistic process itself.
Born and raised in Muharraq, where he continues to live today, AbdulRahim built his home and studio amidst its historic alleys. His artistic journey began after returning from India in 1984, where he had studied technical drawing since 1979, earning a diploma in drafting.
He initially approached art as a hobby, but his passion deepened after participating in his first group exhibition at Al Hala Club in Muharraq in 1987. The following year, he joined The Bahrain Arts Society, where he became captivated by the techniques of etching and printmaking. In 1990, he held his first solo exhibition at the Society’s exhibition hall, presenting a selection of sketches, oil paintings, and etchings. Since then, he has taken part in numerous exhibitions at the local, regional, and international levels, earning several artistic awards throughout his career.
