His Majesty King Hamad returned to Bahrain yesterday from Egypt, after leading Bahrain’s delegation to the Sharm el Sheikh Summit for Peace and witnessing the signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
His Majesty’s participation came at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
Upon his departure from Egypt, His Majesty praised Egypt’s role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and its commendable efforts to mediate an end to the war in Gaza.
His Majesty also commended Egypt’s efforts in formulating the Arab-Islamic plan for Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction, as well as its support for joint Arab action, protection of Arab security, and promotion of solidarity, peace and stability across the Arab world.
Upon departure from Sharm el Sheikh Airport, His Majesty was bid farewell by Egypt’s Minister of Culture Dr Ahmed Fouad Hanno and Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt Fawzia Zainal.
His Majesty sent a cable of thanks to President Al Sisi, expressing appreciation for the generous hospitality, and excellent organisation.
