Safa, Bahrain’s national carbon offset and climate action platform, and a portfolio company of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), took part in the national campaign “Towards a Greener Bahrain” as part of its continued commitment to sustainability and climate action.
During the initiative, Safa chief executive officer Talal Arif Al Araifi planted a tree to symbolise the platform’s contribution to Bahrain’s environmental goals and its ongoing support of the kingdom’s target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060.
The tree-planting activity aligns with the kingdom’s environmental vision, championed by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and reflects Safa’s dedication to supporting Bahrain’s national agenda to expand green spaces and combat climate change.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Al Araifi said: “It was an honour to take part in this national initiative that reflects Bahrain’s collective responsibility towards a more sustainable future. Planting a tree is a meaningful reminder that small, consistent actions can have lasting impact for generations to come. At Safa, we aim to transform environmental commitments into measurable progress through verified carbon offset projects, green innovations, and community engagement.”
This initiative marks one of several programmes Safa is undertaking to promote environmental awareness, foster sustainable behaviour, and support Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and climate goals through measurable, high-impact action.
