His Majesty King Hamad received guests and heads of delegations participating in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held under His Majesty’s patronage.
His Majesty’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa was present.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for their participation in this major Asian event and extended his wishes for a pleasant stay in Bahrain. He highlighted the close relations that link Bahrain with the participating countries, noting the growing co-operation across all fields, particularly in youth and sports, which continue to bring nations closer together.
His Majesty affirmed Bahrain’s pride in hosting the Asian Youth Games, a platform that builds bridges of friendship and communication among young athletes.
The King emphasised the role of sports in fostering cultural exchange and promoting values of tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect among youth. His Majesty added that the real achievement lies in bringing together Asia’s youth to compete in a spirit of friendship and fair play.
His Majesty commended the efforts of his representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
His Majesty praised their leadership and dedication in ensuring the success of the Games, which further strengthen Bahrain’s reputation as a regional hub for major international sporting events.
HM the King also commended the efforts of all organising committees for the outstanding preparations and impressive opening ceremony, made possible through the commitment of Bahrain’s dedicated national professionals.
His Majesty also congratulated Morocco on winning the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, commending the Moroccan team’s impressive performance throughout the tournament.
The visiting guests and delegation heads expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. They praised Bahrain’s exceptional organisation and the facilities provided for athletes and visitors, describing the Games as a model of efficient planning and regional cooperation. They also conveyed their best wishes for Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity under His Majesty’s leadership.
