Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf Al Maawda received partner and co-chair of international arbitration at the global law firm Paul Hastings and distinguished faculty chair of the International Arbitration Institute at the University of Miami School of Law Prof Jonathan Hamilton. Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) secretary general Professor Marike Paulsson attended the meeting.
The minister praised Mr Hamilton’s contributions to international arbitration. They discussed latest developments in commercial arbitration and its role in enhancing dispute resolution frameworks and investor confidence.
Separately, the BCDR hosted Prof Hamilton for discussions on enhancing co-operation in international arbitration, legal training, institutional exchange and educational initiatives.
During his visit, Prof Hamilton met Prof Paulsson and BCDR chief executive officer Ahmed Husain.
