Veteran media entrepreneur Naushad Khan has officially launched his new digital publication, Cape Town This Month, in a celebration held atop the iconic Table Mountain.
The launch marked both a personal milestone for Mr Khan – who turned 60 this year – and served as a gesture of support for the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) and the mountain itself, both of which are nominated in the 2025 World Travel Awards.
Cape Town This Month is the result of a collaboration with Red House Marketing, the Bahrain-based publishers of Bahrain This Month. The partnership unites two leading media voices from the Middle East and Africa, creating a dynamic new platform to promote tourism, culture, and lifestyle across global audiences.
Mr Khan extended his gratitude to George F Middleton, chairman and publisher of Red House Marketing and Bahrain This Month, for his mentorship and belief in the project.
Mr Middleton commented that the launch marks “a proud extension of our publishing family’s spirit of connection and collaboration.”
“Red House Marketing has always believed in celebrating communities – their people, culture, and stories – wherever they are in the world,” Mr Middleton added. “This partnership with Naushad Khan brings that vision to life in one of the most breathtaking cities on earth. We’re delighted to see this vibrant platform take shape and look forward to sharing Cape Town’s unique energy with audiences across continents.”
Mr Khan reflected on his three decades in the media industry and the inspiration behind the new venture.
“Turning 60 this year has given me the gift of reflection,” Mr Khan said. “After three fulfilling decades in the media world, I wanted to create something that celebrates not just stories, but the spirit of Cape Town – our people, our culture, our beauty, and our resilience.”
He explained the platform’s vision is to encourage “families, mature audiences, and all who love this region to explore, connect, and enjoy life to the fullest.”
The new publication is a comprehensive digital platform that will feature a website, dedicated social media channels, a podcast, a YouTube channel, and niche lifestyle and tourism events, offering audiences an immersive experience of the Cape’s vibrant identity.
The evening concluded with a toast to “new beginnings at every age,” celebrating both the timeless beauty of Table Mountain and the start of a new chapter in Cape Town’s storytelling landscape.
