Alba, the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, kicked off its mini-safety and health (S&H) Winter Readiness Campaign ‘Ring the Safety Bell: Seasons Change, Safety is Constant’ yesterday, reinforcing its unwavering commitment to safety.
Speaking on the campaign, Alba’s chief executive officer Ali Al Baqali said: “Safety is not a milestone but a mindset that we carry into every task, every shift and every day. As we adapt to changing seasons, our focus remains on anticipating risks and implementing best practices.
“This campaign will focus on seasonal preparedness and reinforce the importance of staying vigilant, especially after successfully navigating the challenges of the previous quarter.”
Running till November 27, the campaign will feature group-specific programmes that will focus on key winter safety topics such as pre-heating tools and equipment, securing proper material storage, conducting rooftop inspections, maintaining vehicle readiness, amongst others.
Over the years, Alba’s safety campaigns have played a key role in enhancing its safety culture by encouraging employees to take responsibility for their own well-being and support one another.
