Bahrain is eying Germany as one of its key target markets within the Tourism Sector Strategy (2022-2026), Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi has affirmed.
“The aim is to diversify tourist source markets and attract more visitors from Europe,” she told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej on the sidelines of an event that brought together representatives from both countries.
She stressed the ministry’s intensive promotional efforts to increase the number of German tourists visiting Bahrain, in light of positive indicators showing growing European interest in Gulf destinations.
Ms Al Sairafi said that Bahrain has successfully strengthened its position on the regional and global tourism map in recent years, thanks to the diverse experiences it offers visitors—including family, marine, cultural and entertainment tourism.
She added that the ministry continues to develop tourism infrastructure and expand the calendar of events that attract visitors from around the world.
German Ambassador Henning Simon praised growing relations between the two countries, emphasising that Germany offers a wide variety of distinguished tourist destinations, catering to visitors travelling for business, education, healthcare, or leisure.
“Each region in Germany provides a unique experience – from historic cities such as Berlin and Munich, to the natural beauty of Bavaria and the Black Forest,” he said.
