Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday met senior participants on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf 2025.
He met Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism Dr Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khateeb, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhil Al Ibrahim and Assistant Minister of Investment and chairman of the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority Ibrahim bin Yousef Al Mubarak; and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
The meeting was attended by Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Sustainable Development Minister and Economic Development Board chief executive officer Noor Al Khulaif.
Shaikh Khalid said that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain is committed to enhancing economic co-operation with the GCC states to achieve the shared development visions of the leaders of the GCC, and to advance the region’s role as a global trade and investment hub.
He noted that the longstanding ties between Bahrain and other GCC states have reinforced regional partnership in shaping the present and future of development. He underscored the kingdom’s relations with Saudi Arabia and the UAE as a leading example of economic integration based on openness and sustainability for the benefit of the region and its people.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the participants’ contribution to the forum, which enriches its outcomes, supports GCC economic co-operation, and enhances development partnerships across the region. He highlighted the shared commitment to co-ordinated efforts in line with global economic changes and deeper integration in trade, investment, tourism, industry, and technology to foster joint growth and boost the GCC’s competitiveness in global markets.
The participants in the forum expressed gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his commitment to advancing economic co-operation and integration among GCC countries and for the continued support for joint Gulf action. They also thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his warm welcome and wished Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
