BEYON has announced the establishment of its second fully solar-powered data centre following the successful completion of Phase 3 of the Beyon Solar Park, developed in partnership with Almoayyed Solar.
The BD520,000 investment makes the company’s tier III certified data centre in Hamala one of the few fully green data centres in the region, running on 100 per cent renewable energy. The announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf 2025 Forum.
The large-scale, on-grid solar system spans over 13,000sqm, featuring 2,588 panels that generate approximately 2.5 GWh of clean energy annually. This production is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 1,777 tonnes of CO₂ each year. The installation includes robotic dry-cleaning systems to ensure water-free maintenance.
Beyon chief executive Andrew Kvaalseth commented that the completion of Phase 3 is a major step in translating the company’s commitment into “tangible impact, powering our operations with clean energy, enhancing efficiency, and supporting Bahrain’s national sustainability agenda.”
The green data centre directly supports customers in meeting their own ESG and net-zero strategies by enabling them to reduce their carbon footprint. The new infrastructure also enhances overall energy resilience by adding a layer of redundant power.
Mohammed Almoayyed, chairman of Almoayyed International Group, said the collaboration has been a “model of private-sector collaboration driving renewable energy adoption.”
The parties have already renewed their partnership to advance clean energy initiatives and prepare for Phase 4 of the Solar Park.
